Half A Love

Love isn't complete unless it's returned
This is one lesson I've already learned
Complete love is but a figment in my dreams
No one can love me for me it seems

Just a glimpse of heaven was my heart's fate
To love then to lose is hard to take
How could it have happened so fast
A fool would have known it wouldn't last

Some say it's better to have loved and lost
But they couldn't have totalled up the cost
When your love runs into a wall
You'll know half a love hurts worst of all

But my head and heart hoped as one
That I could come out of the cold into the sun
To feel this sense of loss...this searing ache
To find love it's a risk you must take
