Holding Hands

Lord, I have heard about you through so many others
All those, your children, my sisters and brothers
Not to sit in judgement and how I'm to forgive
Must I stay this confused as long as I live

Most of the time this seems a one way street
Christians with knowledge who don't walk the beat
Preachers who have taught us the golden rule
And then they do not abide by it after school

Wouldn't it really be something awesome to see
Do you realize at all how full heaven could be
If all could just follow the biblical teaching
And warmly clasp each and every hand reaching

As I reach out and Jesus takes my hand
We have begun what I think he's planned
Now there's two hands reaching out to you
Please do what you're each meant to do

Won't you hold my hand or that of Jesus
I wonder if you know how much it pleases
Our father in heaven who loves us so
If we hold his hand wherever we go
