Have You Been Here

Have you ever felt
like you were empty inside?
Like someone reached in
and tore all emotion out?

Have you ever felt so alone
Colors turned to black and white?
Everything became a blur,
And the silence becomes deafening?

I feel so empty and yet
I sit here with tears streaming-
Waves of pain engulf me like a
Twig in the hurricane’s eye.

My mind trying to focus on God,
While my heart denies He exists?
I ask forgiveness for my weaknesses,
and His guidance to see me through.
