Different Directions

Are we heading in two different directions
Is this how the Lord is answering my question
There’s only one path that leads to God’s Kingdom
I must follow this path, with you, or alone

We’ve been together so long, you’re part of me
We’ve stood side by side, and made it this far
Now that our journeys end is within our reach
You turn your back on the path that we’ve been shown

I feel like shouting, and throwing a huge fit
But I have learned He has given us each free will
I knew this before, but now I see it’s depth
As you chose to stay on in the world we’ve known

I’m at a crossroad, and just one path is right
And I know you know this just as well as I
I’ve tried to show you, through my love and actions
How close to my Lord Jesus Christ I’ve grown

The time has come for me to step out in faith
I know now I can’t force you to walk with me
Fear is warring with excitement in my breast
And I can’t stop the tears that are now flowin’
