New Life Dream

I had quite the strange dream the other night
A trumpet screamed; I disappeared from sight
My clothes were left in a heap on the floor
Next to the bible I'd not need no more

The next thing I knew I stood in a line
I was given bread and a cup of wine
Heavenly music was all around me
I knew none of the faces I could see

Above the light of souls I saw a gate
The color of pearls I know knew my fate
My heart wept for all those souls left behind
Not seeing the path that's so well defined

Thoughts on family, and friends I had known
Wondered about the growth of seeds I'd sown
Thanked my Lord God for sharing truth with me
Giving glory, thankful for His mercy

Then it was my turn to stand before Him
He gave me wings that were gossamer thin
He included a hug, and kissed my head
I felt like my every need was fed

Then off I flew into a lush new land
Where all things happen just as our Lord planned
Trying my wings I flew quite a while
And then I was wearing the biggest smile

I had found my son and a few close friends
I had found the spot where the rainbow ends
God gave me what my whole life I had sought
Friendship and love filled the huge golden pot
