From Echo’s To Laughter

Lord, so many children are needy
I hear echoes of their cries
Many too young to be understood
Only a year or two into their lives

These little souls are battered
And so very terribly abused
If not killed while small babies
Only kept around to be used

In a place where love holds no value
In a cage not a home at all
Little souls crying out to be rescued
Am I the only one hearing them call

My spirit seeks out these echoes
As my own soul has been there before
Use me as a light to lead them
To you for gifts of love and more

I want to help you silence the echoes
Putting much laughter in their place
Give each a reason to smile
Through your ever loving grace
