Pre-Planned Destiny
There's an insistant voice within my head And it's very determined to be heard Saying things I really don't want to hear But I can distinctly catch every word
Soon, there's a conversation going on The voice has an answer for everything No matter the strength of arguement made And what the voice says has a truthful ring
'It's almost time for you to come home child.' 'But dad, can't I stay just a little while? There's so much to do before I can leave. I have to walk this land another mile!
'Do what you must but you better be quick. Everything's written for a time and place.'
'But what about all that's left unfinished?'
'Come child, let me dry those tears on your face. But you've left nothing unfinished my child. No one person was meant to do it all. Now you must quit fretting and come with me. Leave that to someone else that he will call.'
Looking down at my still, lifeless shell Tears flow for my son's pain on the 'morrow.
'Dad, I can't leave you must please understand! I must be here to comfort his sorrow.'
'You must come with me as it is written. Come now child, you'll meet again in due time. You'll still be able to watch over him. And I've a feeling he'll be just fine.'
Now all my arguements have been conquered. With many mixed feelings, I take dad's hand. In a blink I'm just part of life's history. Just as he had written, just as he planned.
