Dear Father

I once prayed for beauty
And then I prayed for love
Next I prayed for wisdom
All three of these above

Hearing me you answered
That beauty was inside
I must take time to search
It tends to shyly hide

You told me about love
To receive I must give
Expecting nothing back
While on this earth I live

Then we talked of wisdom
Found through my prayers and deeds
In between the pages
In a book full of seeds

I’ve learned how to plant them
And nourish them to grow
But Father in Heaven
There’s more I need to know

Tell me which way to turn
Show me where I should start
Tell me how to let go
How to quiet my heart

Dearest Lord Jesus
Will you please hear my cries
Will you place the answers
Right in front of my eyes
