My All Time Hero
I saw you as a fierce caveman
In truth the leader of your tribe
Your club was large and menacing
But inside was sweet gentleness
I saw you as a poor beat slave
You had a strong pride a warm heart
You helped other slaves find Jesus
And with love taught a better life
I saw you in the chariot
You held a sword in your right hand
The Emperor stood beside you
Back from battle victorious
Then I saw you as a pirate
A black patch over your left eye
You'd brought the King's Queen and treasures
Back to the Castle on the hill
Next I saw you as a sheriff
Over land far as the eye could see
You shot or jailed all the bad guys
And gave children candy for free
I saw you as an astronaut
You and your crew among the stars
Your missions were so successful
And your crews always came home safe
I now see you as a poet
Touching the hearts of many lands
Giving comfort and fellowship
Sharing all with those that you can
You have always been my hero
No matter what the time or place
Wonder where I'll see you next time
I wonder more if you'll see me
