A Single Rose

I’ve received a single rose
Grown with much love and care
To tell how much it meant to me
Can I…should I…do I dare

I don’t want to scare him away
As I enjoy his friendship so much
No one has ever given me a flower
Not even the kind I can’t touch

It’s bound to touch any woman’s heart
Who’s walked the path that I have walked
Such thoughtfulness I’m not use to
But he knows this since we’ve talked

I feel like I’ve got family now
Of which it’s great to be a part
I’m so lucky to have found a place
Where it’s a must to have a heart
