The Invitation

The invitation was delivered by angel
A special greeting from the most high
I was invited to a private party
Held in Heaven as the angels fly

The angel was smiling as she awaited my reply
Her eyes shined of hope wings glowing with love
Whispers reached my ears come with me
Don your wings with blessings from above

Why is He asking it's not my place
To make a choice that's impossible to make
Just the mere thought of seeing Him
Not being ready I shiver and shake

Somehow it happened I'm out of my shell
I look at peace thus there asleep
An odd sensation then a slight breeze
I've earned my wings they're mine to keep

I flew with the angel invitation in hand
Looking for a landmark of two fountains
Out of the room the door the city past valleys
Up higher than any of the mountains

Here it got tricky we zigged and zagged
The angel sung merrily she'd soon be home
Following closely behind touching stars within reach
I am welcomed never again to be alone
