Stranger In The Mirror
Looking in the mirror
A stranger stares back
Her eyes are vacant
Hiding a painful secret
After several showers
And her skin scrubbed raw
She still feels his fingers
Biting into her soft flesh
Looking in the mirror
Meeting this stranger's eyes
A tear falls in compassion
Down an ashen cheek
He stole the life from her eyes
The innocence of her young body
Her belief in her God
And her trust of mankind
She steps back into the shower
She begins scrubbing again
Who will tell her that scouring
Won't wash the memories away
Will it be the silent stranger
Who meets her eyes in the mirror
Or will it be her God
Who lovingly awaits her return
Looking in the mirror
A stranger stares back
What happened to this stranger
To kill all but her tears
