Barb's Dance Party
Have you all heard?
Words got around!
Barb had a party
miles above the ground.
It was an evening party
on a clear warm night,
when the moon was full,
and stars were shinning bright.
Moonbeams became elevators;
a magic ride towards heaven.
Barb was so excited
she'd been ready since seven!
She fretted not at all
about putting names with faces.
She counted them all friends
from near and far places
Bob of course was the first to arrive,
and he had DragonLady in tow.
Dear Frans was on her other side,
Anywhere these three she'd know!
RainbowQueen had met Cindy,
who had caught Alan halfway there.
He had BabyPoet on his arm,
laughing like he hadn't a care.
So many had been invited-
Good thing the universe is vast.
There was room for everyone,
even those who arrived last.
The dance floor was crowded,
as Bob had challenged everyone;
He'd started a dance contest,
and everyone was having fun
Meeting and greeting friends,
found among poetry pages-
finally meeting all those people,
that we'd waited to meet for ages.
Poetry of every kind shared,
and hundreds of pictures taken.
It was the event of the season,
this party of Barb's makin'.
Everyone was present,
the young and the old-
Frans won the dance contest,
but it was close I was told.
So much fun and laughter;
So much inspiration found-
As the stars began fading, we
rode moonbeams to the ground.
