Evening Fantasy

After falling asleep last night
I searched for you in my dreams
I saw Alan and he told me
He last saw you riding moonbeams

Giving him a hug I ran on
Knowing precious moments ticked by
To check the long twisting moonbeams
I would go as the butterfly flies

I was just in time to see Frans
Whose carriage was ready to leave
I asked him where he was heading
"To delight in the love dreams weave"

Being the gallant man he is
He kindly offered me a ride
We searched each and every moonbeam
With anticipation inside

Not finding you I thanked dear Frans
And bid him go on his own way
Maybe it wasn't meant to be
It had been a really bad day

Pondering where I should look next
Waving him off I turned around
And ran right smack into Betty
I almost knocked her to the ground

She said she was in a hurry
She was heading up towards the stars
To experience that beauty
That absolutely nothing mars

She had seen you much earlier
Baby Poet had you in tow
Cindy was having a meeting
Moderators all had to go

Anticipation dwindling...
Then I hear something in the air
DragonLady is on her way
I'd know that flapping anywhere

Watching her approach I'm in awe
Term majestic beauty applies
Blowing streams of crimson fire
Reflected in black as night eyes

My heart soars and my spirit sings
Seeing my knight upon her back
I receive a shot in the arm...
The faith in love I seem to lack

Part 2 Dragon Ride

I expected you to come down
But smiling and with a quick wink
You had DL lower her long tail
All I could do was stand and blink

I'd never climbed a dragon's tail
It looked like a long and rough climb
I was afraid I would fall off
But you promised me I'd be fine

The warmth in your eyes guiding me
Carefully I began to climb
Hand over hand step by step
I heard DL's, "You're doing fine!"

Looking into your smiling eyes
I made the climb without mishap
You took both my hands within yours
And pulled me down onto your lap

With your nod in her direction
DragonLady began to fly
You held me safe within your arms
As we flew through the star filled sky

I asked you where we were going
You told me it was a surprise
You read the worry on my face
"We have hours before sunrise"

Leaning back into your embrace
I snuggle enjoying the sight
As DragonLady carries us
Through the quiet star studded night

It's all so sweetly romantic
Your heartbeat says you feel it too
The lips at my neck teasing me
While my response is pleasing you

My heartbeat's a bit erratic
My face is a bright shade of pink
My breathing is deep and shallow
I close my eyes...feel...and not think

A chuckle rumbles 'neath my ear
And my face goes from pink to red
The moment's broken by DL
"Here's your destination", she said

Looking below in amazement
I caught my breath in awed delight
You'd brought me to a land of magic
And my soul was touched with the sight

Never had I seen such beauty
Tranquility touched my spirit
Then DL was whispering low
"Okay my dear friends, let's do it!"

Part 3 Dream Or Reality

Carefully and slowly we stood
Your arms are still around me tight
I feel the magic in this place
And being in your arms feels right

Ever so quietly she landed
So magically without a sound
She was careful not to scare off
The two unicorns on the ground

Promising to come back for us
She rose gracefully into the air
It seemed they hadn't noticed us
The unicorn baby or mare

They look so soft and so gentle
Yet majestic there on the cliff
I can smell all the wild flowers
Of which the breeze carries a whiff

Waterfalls make their own music
So very pleasing to my ears
So many awesome bright colors
Such beauty could move one to tears

With a squeeze to seal the moment
After a sweet butterfly kiss
We share this moment in silence
Meeting eyes and feeling such bliss

Walking towards a path I'd not seen
I wasn't sure what you had planned
You must have seen me hesitate
Eyes twinkling bright you took my hand

After just a wee short distance
Catching my breath in awed surprise
I stopped in my tracks and just stared
Into a pair of big soft eyes

Just standing still I am waiting
Letting her slowly walk towards me
Her babe kept peeking around her
Trying to see what he could see

Soon I was petting the shy mare
As she softly nuzzled my hand
Sugar cubes came from your pocket
You had it all very well planned

Splitting the sugar between them
The unicorns thoughtfully chewed
After they had finished their treat
They were in a more trusting mood

Watching the mare with her baby
Gave me a warm feeling inside
Before long it was time to go
We had to leave to catch our ride

We saw DL flying above
Said our goodbyes and walked away
You saw the look upon my face
"Cheer up; We'll come another day"

DL bade us to please hurry
Saying the sun was soon to rise
We climbed hurriedly up her tail
And she flew into starry skies

Wanting to thank you properly
I pull you close in my embrace
I whisper in your ear "Thank you
for sharing this magical place"

As DL gets near the palace
Rays from the sunrise can be seen
She knew she had to get him home
After she drops off RainbowQueen

Stretching, yawning, sun in my eyes
I pull myself up out of bed
Was I in that magical land
Or was it only in my head
