Fitting In
Walking into homes
One after another
Here a foster sister
There a foster brother
Never fitting in
Security gone
Shuffled to the next one
Never takes very long
Taken back to court
They do as they see right
When will their eyes open
When will they see the light
I’m damaged goods
They’ve said so themselves
My life in their files
Each home it swells
Prayers finally answered
I now have a home
The courts decided
To put me on my own
A strange sensation
A new life to begin
In this home
Where I’ll always fit in
