Her She Me

I see terror in a young girl's eyes
She's beaten senseless I hear her cries
Bruises appear on her skin
As they beat her again and again
 
Nothing she does appears to be right
Soon she'll lose her will to fight
She's too weak to hold on anymore
Her blood runs from skin that's tore
 
They do things to bring them to be
Her tears and screams they want to see
She's trained herself to hold them in
As the pain begins once again
 
She doesn't belong is what they say
All she is is in the way
For their mistakes she is to blame
Day after day is always the same
 
I see the scars her body holds
It's all her fault or so she's told
The scars inside run deeper yet
 Another beating comes get ready get set
 
Inside her tears fall like rain
She can no longer handle the pain
How much longer must her life be
Where hate and pain are all she sees
